Officer, 2 Civilians Injured in Chain-Reaction Crash on Hwy 281 in San Antonio

Police Officer and Two Civilians Injured in San Antonio Multi-Vehicle Crash on Hwy 281

San Antonio, Texas (March 27, 2021) – Three people were injured early Saturday morning in a chain-reaction crash in San Antonio, according to police.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on Highway 281 Northbound at Nakoma near the airport.

Police said a car had crashed, and officers responded, and they used their vehicles to block the wrecked car.

 A while later, two vehicles crashed into one of the police vehicles, pinning an officer inside.

The officer was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. 

Two other people were also taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Both drivers involved in the crash, including the one who hit the officer, were being evaluated for DWI.

The crash remains under investigation.
