Officer Claudia Cormier Hurt in Drunk Driving Accident on Highway 35 in San Marcos

Claudia Cormier Injured San Marcos Traffic Accident on Highway 35

San Marcos, Texas (May 20, 2019) – A police officer was hospitalized following an alleged drunk driving collision on Saturday night in San Marcos, according to the San Marcos Police Department.
The wreck happened on Interstate Highway 35, north of the McCarty overpass shortly after 9:45 p.m. Saturday, May 18.
Police said the officer, identified as Officer Claudia Cormier, was struck by a 2000 Ford Expedition as she was responding to a call of a traffic hazard with items on the roadway.
Cormier sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Seton-Hays Hospital in Kyle.
The driver of the Ford, Neil Sheehan, 58, of Flower Mound, was taken into custody on charges of intoxication assault.
Police are conducting an investigation into the incident.
