Precinct 4 Deputy Hospitalized after Houston Crash on Beltway 8 near TC Jester

Houston, Texas (June 16, 2019) – A Precinct 4 deputy was injured early Sunday morning after an alleged DUI crash in Houston, according to a local news source.

The accident happened at about 1:00 a.m. on Beltway 8 near TC Jester.

As per the report, the deputy on a traffic stop on Beltway 8 when his patrol car was rear-ended by another vehicle.

The officer was transported to a hospital with head, neck and back injuries. He was released Sunday morning.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the deputy was also transported to a hospital. The suspected drunk driver is still in hospital and is expected to be charged with intoxication assault of a peace officer when released.

Authorities are investigating the accident.
