Officer Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on East Concho Avenue in San Angelo

Officer Injured in San Angelo Hit-and-Run Crash on East Concho Avenue near South Oakes Street

San Angelo, Texas (July 18, 2019) – An officer was injured in a hit-and-run accident Wednesday afternoon in San Angelo, according to the police.

The accident happened on East Concho Avenue near South Oakes Street.

Police said a black 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling westbound on East Concho Avenue when it crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with two eastbound unmarked San Angelo Police Department vehicles.

The driver of the Tahoe, a 37-year-old San Angelo resident, fled the scene but was later stopped and detained by a detective who witnessed the incident.

One officer self-ambulated to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Tahoe driver was cited for Failure to Maintain a Single Lane and Failure to Stop and Leave Information Upon Striking a Vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.
