Officer Michele Stavern Struck, Injured by Vehicle on North Esser Road in Boerne

Officer Michele Stavern Hospitalized after Boerne Pedestrian Accident on North Esser Road

Boerne, Texas (September 1, 2019) – A police officer was struck and injured by a vehicle Friday night in Boerne, a local news source reported.

The pedestrian accident took place at about 10:00 p.m. Friday, August 30 in the 100 block of North Esser Road.

As per the local news report, Officer Michele Van Stavern was standing in the road when she was hit by a pickup truck while she was directing traffic after a football game between Boerne High School and Champion High School.

Stavern was taken to University Hospital with unspecified injuries.

Andrew Harris, 35, was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence. Stavern was wearing a visible traffic vest and she was using a flashlight at the time of the accident.

The crash remains under investigation by police.
