Oliver Rodriguez Killed in Upton County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 15555

Upton County, Texas (July 13, 2019) – A man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday evening in Upton County, according to the police.

The fatal crash took place just after 5:30 p.m. July 11, on FM 15555.

Authorities said a 2002 International truck was heading eastbound on the roadway when the left front tire blew out, causing the driver to lose control and enter the westbound lane.

The driver then hit a westbound 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, occupied by two Odessa men.

Oliver Rodriguez, 24, of Odessa, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Both drivers sustained incapacitating injuries and were taken to Shannon Medical Center Hospital in San Angelo. The passenger of the first vehicle suffered non-incapacitating injuries and was taken to Upton County Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
