Pilot Injured in Mesquite Plane Crash near Mesquite Metro Airport
Mesquite, Texas (April 24, 2020) – One person was injured Thursday evening in a plane crash in Mesquite, just west of the Kaufman-Dallas County line, a local news source reported.
The crash happened around 3:35 p.m. on April 23, near the Mesquite Metro Airport.
FAA said the single-engine Pilatus PC-12/77 aircraft had departed the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport around 3:20 p.m. when the pilot reported loss of engine power to air traffic controllers and the plane crashed in a field north of the airport.
The plane wasn’t scheduled for a landing at the Mesquite Metro Airport.
The pilot, who was the only occupant in the plane, was airlifted to a local hospital in stable condition.
An investigation is underway.
