64-Year-Old Pamela Bartlett Killed in Texarkana Two-Vehicle Crash on Cowhorn Creek Loop

Texarkana, Texas (March 28, 2020) – A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday night in Texarkana, police said.

The fatal crash happened around 8:00 p.m. March 27, on South Cowhorn Creek Loop at the Newk’s Eatery parking lot.

Authorities said Pamela Bartlett, 64, of Texarkana, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier northbound when she swerved into the turn lane and crashed into the back of a northbound 2019 Chevrolet Equinox that was in the turn lane waiting to turn left into the Newk’s Eatery parking lot.

Investigators believe that Bartlett suffered a serious medical issue immediately before the crash. She was rushed to St. Michael Hospital, where she later died.

The Equinox driver, Katherine Schmidt, 36, of Texarkana, suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The police are investigating the crash.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Pamela Bartlett.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.
