Pascual Garcia, Carolina Garcia-Amaya and Billy Ray Ethridge Jr. Killed in Northeast El Paso Three-Vehicle Crash on Hercules Avenue

El Paso, Texas (January 19, 2020) – Three people were killed Friday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash in Northeast El Paso, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened just before 5:00 p.m. January 17, in the 4000 block of Hercules Avenue.

Police said Billy Ray Ethridge Jr., 45, was driving a 2016 Dodge Challenger eastbound at a high rate of speed when he rear-ended an eastbound 2016 Chevrolet Cruze.

The force of the impact caused the Cruze to spin into the westbound lanes and crash into a tree.

Ethridge lost control of his vehicle and veered into westbound traffic where he crashed head-on into a 1995 Ford Aerostar.

The driver and passenger of the Aerostar, Pascual Garcia, 76, and Carolina Garcia-Amaya, 72, were declared dead at the scene.

Ethridge was also killed in the crash.

The driver of the Cruze, a 23-year-old, and their two passengers, were not seriously injured in the crash.

Investigators said speed was a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
