Passenger Critically Injured in High-Speed Crash on Laterna Lane in Houston

One Critically Injured in Houston Multi-Vehicle Crash on Laterna Lane near Highway 6

Houston, Texas (March 30, 2020) – One person was critically injured, and another fled the scene following a high-speed crash Saturday night in southwest Houston, according to deputies.

The crash was reported around 10:05 p.m. March 29, in the 14100 block of Laterna Lane, near Highway 6.

According to investigators, a Ford Mustang was speeding in a residential roadway when it crashed into three parked cars.

The impact pinned the Mustang underneath a truck, trapping the front seat passenger.

The driver of the Mustang got out of the car after the crash, removed the license plates from the car, and then fled the scene, leaving the passenger pinned inside. 

Witnesses pursued the driver and held him until the authorities arrived.

The passenger was airlifted to a local hospital with a serious head injury and was listed in critical condition.

The driver is facing a failure to stop and render aid charge and is also being investigated for DWI.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
