Patrick Beck and Sarah Sellers Injured in Gonzales County Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 183 near CR 230

Gonzales County, Texas (July 8, 2021) – Three people were killed and three others were injured Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Gonzales County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 3:00 p.m., July 5, on Highway 183, just north of County Road 230 by Mile Marker 586.

DPS said a 2018 Ford Explorer was traveling southbound on the highway when the driver lost control, possibly due to the heavy rains, and crossed into the northbound lane where it collided with a 2020 Ford F-350 which was towing a flat-bed trailer.

The Explorer driver, Somasundaram Ramesh, 50, of Sugarland, and two passengers, Kavitha Subramanian, 45, of Cupertino, California, and a 15-year-old female, were killed in the wreck. Another passenger, Arrushi Ramesh, 20, of Sugarland, was taken to the San Antonio Military Hospital in an unknown condition.

The F-350 driver, Patrick Beck, 25, of Cedar Creek, and a passenger, Sarah Sellers, 22, of Round Rock, were taken to Ascension Seton Edgar B. Davis Hospital in Luling for treatment.

The troopers are investigating the crash.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws or statutes which were violated.
