Whitehouse, Texas (July 6, 2022) – Two people, including a Smith County Precinct 3 constable, were injured Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash east of Whitehouse, according to the DPS.

The crash happened around 8:20 a.m., on FM 346.

DPS said the constable was trying to turn from the eastbound side of the road with his emergency lights on when a westbound SUV struck his patrol vehicle.

Both the constable and the other driver were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
