Pedestrian Dies Days After Being Hit by Vehicle on Emancipation Avenue in Houston

Man Dies Nearly One Week after Houston Pedestrian Accident on Emancipation Avenue

Houston, Texas (May 23, 2022) – The man who was struck by a vehicle earlier this month in Houston has died from his injuries.

The crash happened at around 10:50 p.m. on May 12 in the 2000 block of Emancipation Avenue.

Authorities said the man was hit by a gray Toyota Scion XB that was heading northbound on Emancipation Avenue.

The man was transported to Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center in critical condition. On May 22, his condition deteriorated and he succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been released pending notification of relatives.

The 69-year-old man driving stopped at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Investigators determined that the driver was not intoxicated at the time of the accident and was released.

No further details about the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
