Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Amtrak Train on Trinity Railway Express in Haltom City

Man Killed in Haltom City Pedestrian Accident on Trinity Railway Express near Carson Street
Haltom City, Texas (February 6, 2019) – A male pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train Tuesday afternoon in Haltom City, authorities said.
The crash occurred at around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, February 5 on the Trinity Railway Express track, just east of Carson Street before Big Fossil Creek.
According to the authorities, the man was jogging or walking along the tracks when he was hit by the train.
Witnesses and the train engineer told investigators that the man was not on the tracks, but was jogging close enough for the train to strike him.
The man died in the accident. His name has not been released pending identification and notification of his relatives.
None of the 34 passengers on the train were hurt, authorities said.  The train delayed for approximately 3 hours.
The crash remains under investigation.
