Person Killed in Austin Pedestrian Accident on West 3rd Street near North Lamar

Austin, Texas (May 19, 2022) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train near downtown Austin early Thursday morning, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash occurred at about 12:45 a.m. in the 100 block of West 3rd Street near North Lamar.

Paramedics responded to the crash and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
