Person Killed in North Austin Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 35

Austin, Texas (July 10, 2020) – A pedestrian was fatally hit by a vehicle early Friday morning in North Austin, according to officials.

The deadly accident happened around 4:33 a.m. in the 11800 block of Interstate 35, north of Braker Lane.

Officials said the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, for unknown reasons, in the southbound lanes of the highway.

The pedestrian, an adult, was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

The crash closed the southbound lanes of the highway at Braker Lane.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
