Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Vehicle on Interstate 35 in Austin

One Person Killed, Another Seriously Injured in Austin Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 35

Austin, Texas (July 25, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle that rolled over Monday morning on an interstate in south Austin, according to authorities.

The deadly crash occurred at about 9:00 a.m. in the 6000 block of Interstate 35 service road southbound between Stassney and William Cannon.

Authorities said one vehicle overturned and hit the pedestrian on the frontage road of the interstate.

The pedestrian, whose name was not immediately disclosed, was declared dead at the scene.

The occupant of the vehicle was trapped and had to be freed by emergency personnel. The victim was transported to a hospital with potentially serious injuries.

No other details were available.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
