Person Dies in Lubbock Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 27

Lubbock, Texas (August 17, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle early Friday morning in Lubbock, authorities said.

The deadly accident occurred at about 3:45 a.m. Friday, August 16 on Interstate 27 between 50th Street and South Loop 289.

Police said the pedestrian was hit by a red Chevrolet Camaro on Interstate 27, The cause of the accident was unknown.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of family.

The driver of the red Chevrolet Camaro stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The crash remains under investigation.
