Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Interstate 45 in Houston

Person Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 45 at Tellepsen Street

Houston, Texas (April 29, 2022) – A pedestrian died following a hit-and-run accident Friday morning on an interstate in Houston, according to Houston police.

The deadly pedestrian crash took place on Interstate 45 at Tellepsen Street.

Police said the pedestrian was either walking on the shoulder or crossing the freeway when they were struck by a vehicle that was traveling northbound.

The pedestrian, only identified as a male victim, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. There was no description of the suspect’s vehicle.

Police are still looking for the hit-and-run driver.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072 or speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
