One Killed in Harris County Pedestrian Accident on Eastex Freeway

Harris County, Texas (March 22, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed early Tuesday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Harris County, according to the deputies.

The deadly accident happened around 12:55 a.m., in the southbound main lanes of the Eastex Freeway near Humble.

Deputies said a 2016 Honda Civic was traveling southbound on the freeway when it struck a pedestrian. The Civic driver fled the scene on foot.

The pedestrian was then struck by a second vehicle as they lay on the ground. That vehicle also fled the scene.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

No other information was available.

The deputies are investigating the crash.
