Man Injured in Austin Pedestrian Accident at Riverside Drive and South 1st Street
Austin, Texas (February 13, 2019) – A male pedestrian was struck and injured by a bus Monday evening in Austin, according to a local news source.
The accident happened Monday, February 11 near Riverside Drive and South 1st Street.
According to police, a CapMetro bus was heading southbound on South 1st Street when it made a left turn to go eastbound on Riverside Drive.
The bus then hit the man, who was in the crosswalk, from behind.
The man sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital. The driver of the bus was cited for not yielding to a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
It was undetermined if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
