One Killed in Northwest Austin Train-Pedestrian Accident on West Howard Lane near Wells Branch

Austin, Texas (April 29, 2020) – A pedestrian was fatally hit by a train early Wednesday morning in Northwest Austin, according to officials.

The accident was reported around 2:44 a.m. in the 3700 block of West Howard Lane, near Wells Branch, just off MoPac Boulevard (Loop 1).

Officials said the pedestrian was struck by a train, for unknown reasons, on West Howard Lane.

The victim was declared dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

No further details were provided.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
