Person Killed in Central Austin Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 35 and Clarkson Avenue

Austin, Texas (May 21, 2023) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a CapMetro train Friday morning in central Austin, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 9:45 a.m., May 19, near the intersection of North I-35 southbound and Clarkson Avenue near the Hancock Center.

Police said a person was killed after being hit by a CapMetro train. The victim’s identity has not been released.

No other information was available.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
