Pilot Injured in NW Harris County Plane Crash near Hooks Airport on Stuebner Airline Road

Harris County, Texas (February 18, 2022) – A pilot was injured Thursday afternoon after a small plane crashed in northwest Harris County, according to the deputies.

The crash happened around 2:00 p.m., February 17, in the 20300 block of Stuebner Airline Road, near the David Wayne Hooks Memorial Airport.

Deputies said a blue and yellow 2007 Pitts aircraft was in the process of landing when it experienced a loss of power on the runway, hit a guardrail, and flipped over several times.

The pilot, who was the only one on board, was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
