Prajedis Villarreal Injured in Fatal Head-On Collision at U.S. 62 and FM 54 in Floyd County

Prajedis Villarreal Hospitalized after Fatal Floyd County Crash at U.S. 62 and FM 54

Floyd County, Texas (September 3, 2022) – Prajedis Joel Villarreal of Altus, Oklahoma, was injured in a traffic accident that also claimed the lives of two people, including his wife,  Thursday night south of Floydada in Floyd County.

The deadly crash happened at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday, September 1, at the intersection of U.S. 62 and FM 54.

Authorities said a 2016 Nissan pickup, driven by Devin Andrews, 24, of Mount Vernon, was pulling off FM 54 when it collided with a 2016 Cadillac, driven by Prajedis Villarreal.

Prajedis Villarreal was transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock with unspecified injuries. His wife, Linda Villarreal, 34, also of Altus, Oklahoma, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Andrews also died in the crash. Witnesses told the authorities that Andrews failed to stop for a red light at the intersection.

Additional information is not available at this time.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
