Ramero Arenas Aguilar Killed in Bastrop County Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 71

Bastrop County, Texas (May 27, 2020) – The police have identified the three people who were killed last week Sunday night in a head-on collision in Bastrop County as Eulisses Martinez Zavala, 20, of Bastrop, Ramero Arenas Aguilar, 60, of Austin, and Miguel Diaz, 45, of Austin

The fatal crash occurred around 11:40 p.m. May 17, on State Highway 71 near Blue Flame Road.

Authorities said Zavala was driving a 2001 Honda Accord westbound in the eastbound lanes when he crashed head-on into a 2010 Toyota Corolla.

Zavala was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people in the Corolla, Aguilar, and Diaz, were also pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other people in the Accord were airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
