Ramon De Loera Hernandez Killed in Waco Two-Vehicle Crash at E. Loop 340 and Idylwood Lane

Waco, Texas (May 6, 2020) – The person who was killed last month in a hit-and-run crash in Waco has been identified as Ramon De Loera Hernandez, 25, according to Waco police.

The deadly crash happened just before 8:30 p.m. April 24, in the area of E. Loop 340 and Idylwood Lane.

Police said the crash involved a semi-truck and 4-door sedan.

Hernandez was riding in the sedan and was declared dead at the scene.

Another person was trapped in the car, and it took firefighters about an hour to extricate them. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the semi-truck fled the scene.

Police said they have identified the suspect, but they haven’t released their name.

Three of the firemen who extricated the victim have been under quarantine at a hotel because the passenger they freed from the wreckage tested positive for COVID-19.

In addition to the firemen, eight WPD employees who responded to the crash, including six officers and two crime scene techs, were also quarantined as a precaution.

The police are investigating the crash.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Ramon De Loera Hernandez.

Commercial trucks are known to cause over 90% of accidents in Houston. These truck drivers must understand that their actions majorly contribute to most of the accidents on the roads. It is also important for others on the same roads with truck drivers to understand that maximum precaution should be taken while driving near trucks. While small mistakes like ignoring the turn signal prior to turning may cause accidents, major causes of these accidents are rooted in other factors like exhaustion on the part of truck drivers. If the reasons for the crash are anchored to the failure of following the right turn or driving at a speed that is not legally recommended, a wrongful death lawyer will be useful in such scenarios.

If you have lost a loved one in an accident with a huge truck, it is advisable to get a lawyer who will facilitate the process of compensation.
