Randal Shepard, Charles Becks Injured in Car Crash on North Medford in Lufkin

Randal Shepard and Charles Becks Airlifted after Lufkin Crash on North Medford near Lufkin Avenue

Lufkin, Texas (October 15, 2019) – Two people were hospitalized Sunday afternoon after a traffic collision in Lufkin, a local news source reported.

The crash occurred around 1:22 p.m. on October 13, on North Medford near the intersection of Lufkin Avenue.

Police said Randal Dtray Shepard, 36, of Lufkin, was driving a Chevrolet Avalanche truck northbound when he rear-ended a Honda Odyssey minivan and lost control.

The Avalanche ended up in the lot of Al Meyers Ford upside down on other vehicles.

The passenger in the Avalanche, Charles Edward Becks, 34, of Lufkin, was ejected upon impact and landed on a Cadillac on the sales lot of the dealership.

Shepard and Becks were airlifted to out-of-town hospitals in unknown condition. Both men were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

The occupants of the minivan were checked out at the scene.

Criminal charges are pending.

The Lufkin Police Department is investigating the crash.
