Ray Elvis Battise, Alton Kimes Killed in Fiery Crash on State Highway 190 in Polk County
Ray Elvis Battise ID’d as 2nd Person Killed in Polk County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 190
Polk County, Texas (June 27, 2019) – The authorities have identified the second person who was killed on April in a two-vehicle crash in Polk County near Livingston as Ray Elvis Battise, of Livingston.
The fatal crash occurred at about 3:15 a.m. on April 28, on State Highway 190.
DPS said Alton Kimes, 40, of Livingston, was driving a 2015 Dodge pickup westbound on the highway when for unknown reasons he crossed over the center line and crashed head-on into an eastbound Cadillac pickup driven by Battise.
The impact caused the Cadillac to catch fire.
Kimes and Battise were pronounced dead at the scene. Naomi Moody, who was a passenger in the Dodge, was taken to CH St. Luke’s Hospital in Livingston and was later airlifted to the Conroe Regional Medical Center.
An investigation is underway.
