Raymond Mills Killed in Montague County Motorcycle Crash on Lone Star Road and Hildreth Pool Road

Montague County, Texas (June 1, 2023) – A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday afternoon in a crash in Montague County, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 1:55 p.m., May 30, at the intersection of Lone Star Road and Hildreth Pool Road.

DPS said Raymond Mills, 60, of Bowie, was riding a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Lone Star Road while a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado towing a semi-trailer was traveling southbound on Lone Star Road and was attempting to make a right-hand turn onto Hildreth Pool Road.

Mills failed to yield half the roadway, and the motorcycle struck the towed trailer. 

Mills was ejected from the motorcycle, and he hit the trailer. He was airlifted to Medical City Denton, where he later died.

The pickup truck driver was uninjured in the crash.

The Texas Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
