Rene Villarreal Dies in Victoria County Car Crash on US 87

Victoria County, Texas (March 21, 2019) – A man was killed in a deadly two-vehicle accident that took place in southeast Victoria County on Wednesday night, DPS said.
The wreck occurred at about 7:50 p.m. March 20 on US 87 at FM 1090.
DPS said William Alexander Orsbon, 19, of Inez, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet southbound on US 87 when he failed to yield to the right-of-way and the Chevrolet was struck on its right side by a northbound 2018 Kia Rio.
The Kia was being driven by Rene Israel Villarreal, 45.
Villarreal succumbed to his injuries at Citizens Medical Center, where he was rushed to after the crash.
Orsbon was also taken to Citizens Medical with non-life-threatening injuries.
The DPS is investigating the collision.
