Richard Touchton Killed in Jefferson County Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 10

Jefferson County, Texas (October 21, 2020) – A person was killed Monday night in a pedestrian accident in Jefferson County, according to the DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 10:45 p.m., October 19, on Interstate 10, near mile marker 839.

According to a preliminary investigation, Richard Touchton, 39, of Florida, was walking in the roadway when he was struck by an eastbound 2017 Nissan SUV driven by a 34-year-old Vidor resident.

Touchton was pronounced dead at the scene.

The SUV driver was uninjured in the crash.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
