Richard Waite Bicyclist Killed in Hit-And-Run Crash on Memorial Boulevard (US 69) in Port Arthur

Richard Waite ID’d as Homeless Man Killed in Port Arthur Bicycle Crash on Memorial Boulevard

Port Arthur, Texas (January 1, 2017) – The Homeless man who was killed in a fatal hit-and-run bicycle accident last month in Port Arthur has been identified as Richard Waite,76.
According to the Port Arthur Police Department, the crash was reported at about 6:58 p.m. December 20 in the 2300 block of Memorial Boulevard.
Police said Waite was riding across Memorial Boulevard when he was hit by a northbound vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the crash.
Waite was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Port Arthur Police Department is investigating the incident.
