Rigoberto Perez Injured in Semi-Truck Crash on I-20 in Midland County

Rigoberto Perez Injured in Midland County Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 20

Midland County, Texas (June 9, 2021) – Two people were killed, and another was injured in a fiery two-vehicle crash Monday morning in Midland County, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 10:20 a.m., June 7, on Interstate 20, 13 miles west of Midland.

DPS said Jarod Clement, 23, was driving a 2018 Dodge Ram when he rear-ended a 2003 Peterbilt semi-truck that had slowed to approach a construction zone.

The truck caught fire after the crash.

Clement and Lionso Rodriguez, 48, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi-truck driver, Rigoberto Perez, 46, was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
