River Russell Killed in League City Hit-and-Run Accident on FM 270 South

League City, Texas (June 27, 2019) – The teenager who was injured early Monday morning in a hit-and-run accident in League City has died, according to the police.

The accident happened between 2:45 a.m. and 3:50 a.m. June 24, in the 1800 block of FM 270 South.

League City police said they found River Russell, 19, lying near a ditch. His personal items, including a skateboard, were scattered across the roadway.

Police believe the vehicle that struck Russell was traveling southbound.

Russell was taken to the hospital where he died on Wednesday, June 26. He graduated from Atascocita High School in 2018.

The police are looking for the hit-and-run vehicle.
