Robert Anderson Injured in Van Zandt County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 751

Van Zandt County, Texas (June 28, 2021) – Two people were killed and two others were injured Friday morning in a head-on collision in Van Zandt County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 11:25 a.m., June 25, on FM 751, six miles north of Wills Point.

DPS said Ember N. Berg, 37, of Quinlan, was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Spark northbound on the highway when she tried to pass another vehicle in a marked no passing zone and she crashed head-on into a southbound Ford F-150 driven by Robert Anderson, 74, of Wills Point.

Berg was taken to Methodist Hospital – Dallas in critical condition.

Angela Phillips, 33, of Quinlan, who was a passenger in the Chevrolet, was taken to Baylor – Dallas where she later died. Another passenger, Dorothy Hines, 51, of Quinlan, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anderson was taken to Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital – Tyler in serious condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
