Robert Procell, Chelsea Chaney Killed, Tellis Jones and 2 Children Injured in Sabine County 3-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 21
Sabine County, Texas (January 28, 2019) – Two people were killed Saturday night in a three-vehicle crash which left three other people injured in Sabine County, according to Texas Department of Public Safety.
The fatal crash happened on Saturday, January 26, on State Highway 21.
DPS said Robert Procell,29, of Hemphill, was driving a 2012 BMW at a high rate of speed when he struck a trailer which was being towed by a Ford pickup as it was turning off the highway.
The BMW then collided head-on with a Chevrolet pickup, driven by 40-year-old Tellis Jones of Hemphill.
Procell and his passenger, Chelsea Chaney, 27, of Jasper, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Jones and two girls, who were passengers in the Chevrolet, were airlifted to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport with unknown injuries.
The Ford driver, 37-year-old Trudy Jones also of Hemphill, was uninjured in the crash.
The DPS is investigating the crash.
