Ronald Williams Killed in New Summerfield Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 79

New Summerfield, Texas (April 25, 2021) – According to the Texas DPS, four people, including an infant, were killed in a head-on collision on Saturday near New Summerfield.

The fatal crash happened on April 24, on Highway 79, near County Road 4301.

DPS said a 2006 Chevrolet Impala was traveling westbound on the highway while a 2007 Saturn Relay towing a utility trailer was traveling eastbound.

For unknown reasons, the Impala crossed into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on into the Saturn.

The Impala driver, Ronald Lewis Williams, 52, of Jacksonville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the Impala, Ariana Lashell Richardson, 21, of Jacksonville, was also pronounced dead at the scene.

A female infant passenger in the Impala was also pronounced dead at the scene.

The Saturn driver, Bobby G. Johnson, 83, of Sage AR, was taken to UT-Health – Tyler in critical condition. His passenger, Katherine June Johnson, 80, of Sage AR, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
