Roy Martin ID’d as Beaumont Man Killed in Jefferson County Dirt Bike Accident on River Bend Road near Texas 105
Jefferson County, Texas (May 30, 2019) – The 36-year-old Beaumont man who was killed Tuesday night in a dirt bike crash in Jefferson County has been identified as Roy Martin Jr.
The deadly accident happened at around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 28 on River Bend Road near Highway 105.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a Chevrolet vehicle, driven by Willie Yoder III, 61, was heading northbound on River Bend Road when for an unknown reason, the Chevrolet collided head-on with a dirt bike that was being driven southbound by Martin.
The force of the impact ejected Martin from his bike.  Martin, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Yoder was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.
The crash remains under investigation.
