Roykeisha Burnette and Michael Piper Killed in Burleson County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 36

Burleson County, Texas (March 6, 2022) – Two people were killed Friday evening in a head-on collision in Burleson County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 6:20 p.m., March 4, on State Highway 36.

DPS said a 2016 Ford car was traveling northbound on the highway and was passing vehicles in the southbound lane when it crashed head-on into a southbound 2013 Hyundai car.

The Hyundai driver, Roykeisha Burnette, 29, of Austin, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ford driver, Michael Piper, 29, of Houston, was also pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger in the Hyundai was ejected and was taken to St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital with critical injuries.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
