Ruben Ramirez Killed in Whitesboro Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 56 and Old Sanborn Ranch Road

Whitesboro, Texas (April 7, 2021) – According to authorities, three people, including a Celina off-duty police officer and his daughter, were killed Monday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash in Whitesboro.

The fatal crash happened on April 5, in the area of Highway 56 and Old Sanborn Ranch Road.

DPS said several vehicles were traveling eastbound on the highway and were stopped for a school bus that was dropping off students. An eastbound dump truck was going over a hill and didn’t stop in time and rear-ended one of the stopped vehicles, resulting in a chain-reaction crash involving three other vehicles. The officer’s vehicle was then hit by one of the vehicles.

Detective KC Robinson, 33, and his daughter Brynlee, 6, were pronounced dead at the scene. Robinson’s wife was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.

Ruben Ramirez, 60, of Denton, was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

The school bus was not hit during the crash, and no one on board was injured.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
