Salvador Tirado Killed in San Antonio Motorcycle Crash on Highway 281 at Bitters Road

San Antonio, Texas (March 13, 2022) – The man who was killed Saturday morning in a motorcycle crash in San Antonio has been identified as Salvador Tirado, 45, of Pipe Creek, in Bandera County, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The deadly accident happened just before 5:30 a.m., March 12, on Highway 281 North and Bitters Road.

Police said Tirado was riding his motorcycle northbound on the highway when he was rear-ended by a Honda Element.

Tirado was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Element spun out and came to a rest against a concrete barrier. The driver said it appeared Tirado slowed down or was stalled in the middle of the highway before she hit him. She was not intoxicated at the time of the crash.

The crash closed the northbound lanes of the highway for several hours.

An investigation is underway.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation
