Serena Nava, Domingo Rivera Killed in Corpus Christi Crash at South Staples Street and Baldwin Boulevard

Corpus Christi, Texas (January 19, 2019) – A 1-year-old child was among two people killed in a two-vehicle accident in Corpus Christi on Tuesday night, according to the Corpus Christi police.
The wreck occurred at about 6:45 p.m. January 15, at South Staples Street and Baldwin Boulevard.
Police said a 19-year-old driver failed to yield to the right-of-way and and collided head-on with a second vehicle.
The four passengers in the victim vehicle were all taken to a hospital where one of them, identified as Domingo Rivera, 26, later died of his injuries. A second victim, Serena Nava, 1, died at the hospital on Thursday evening.
The 28-year-old driver of the vehicle that was hit was also hospitalized with two other children in the vehicle. The driver was then cited for DUI.
The 19-year-old driver was cited for failure to yield to the right-of-way.
The crash is under investigation.
