Seth Dees Killed in Motorcycle Accident on I-40 in Amarillo

Seth Dees Killed in Amarillo Motorcycle Accident on Interstate 40

Amarillo, Texas (May 30, 2020) – One person was killed, and several others were injured Friday night in a motorcycle accident in Amarillo, according to police.

The fatal crash occurred just after 11:00 p.m. May 29, in the1300 block of Interstate 40 West.

Police said a 29-year-old man was riding a motorcycle westbound with his 44-year-old female passenger while Seth Dees, 39, with his 42-year-old female passenger, was riding a 2005 Harley Davidson also westbound.

Dees then rear-ended the other motorcycle causing both motorcycles to crash.

A 42-year-old man was driving a pickup truck and couldn’t stop in time and run over Dees and his passenger.

Dees was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The rider of the other motorcycle was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The pickup driver was uninjured in the crash.

The Amarillo Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit is conducting the investigation.
