Seth Thompson Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Timberland Drive in Lufkin

Officer Seth Thompson Injured in Lufkin Pedestrian Crash on Timberland Drive
Lufkin, Texas (May 5, 2019) – A Lufkin Police officer was struck and injured by a vehicle Saturday afternoon while working an accident in Lufkin, according to a local news source.
The pedestrian accident happened at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4 on Timberland Drive.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Officer Seth Thompson was out of his marked patrol unit with emergency lights activated investigating a previous crash in the parking lot of a local business when for undetermined reasons, a northbound 2006 Toyota SUV drifted off the roadway to the left and rear-ended the police vehicle.
The force of the impact caused the police car to hit Thompson.
Thompson was conscious and alert after the accident. He was airlifted to an out of town hospital in stable condition.
Nakishia Samuels, 40, of Lufkin, who was the driver of the Toyota, was taken to CHI St. Luke’s Hospital in Lufkin with unknown injuries.
An investigation into the crash is under investigation.
