Seven Severely Injured in Boating Accident on Lake Brownwood in Brownwood

7 Sudan Residents Severely Injured in Brownwood Boating Accident on Lake Brownwood

Brownwood, Texas (May 28, 2020) – Seven Sudan residents were severely injured Wednesday night in a boating accident in Brownwood, according to officials.

The accident was reported around 12:11 a.m., on Lake Brownwood.

Officials said a pleasure boat hit a concrete jetty on the lake.

The seven occupants of the boat, a 32-year-old, a 17-year-old, three 18-year-old people and two 19-year-old people, sustained head injuries, lacerations and internal injuries in the crash.

Five of the seven victims were airlifted to hospitals for treatment. Three were taken to a Fort Worth hospital, two were taken to an Abilene hospital and the other two were taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Four of the victims are women while three are men.

The Texas Game Warden with the Texas Parks and Wildlife is investigating the crash.
