Several Injured in Head-On Crash Involving Mexico Charter Bus on U.S. Highway 59 in Live Oak County

Several Injured in Live Oak County Mexico Charter Bus Crash on U.S. Highway 59 near George West

Live Oak County, Texas (May 28, 2020) – Two people were hospitalized Wednesday night following a head-on crash involving a Mexico charter bus three miles south of George West, according to troopers.

The crash happened just after 9:00 p.m. May 27, on U.S. Highway 59.

Troopers said the bus was traveling southbound on the highway when a northbound Chevy passenger car crossed the center line and crashed head-on into the bus.

The bus with 20 people on board was traveling to Mexico from Houston.

The Chevy driver was airlifted to Corpus Christi hospital with serious injuries.

One passenger on the bus was taken to a Beeville hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Other passengers on the bus were treated for minor injuries. 

The DPS is investigating the crash.
