Man Killed, Shane Fischer Arrested after Spring Pedestrian Accident on Treaschwig Road near Birnam Wood Boulevard

Spring, Texas (March 14, 2019) – Police have arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with a hit-and-run accident that left a pedestrian dead Wednesday morning near Spring, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident was reported at about 5:10 a.m. March 13, in the 4500 block of Treaschwig Road near Birnam Wood Boulevard.
Investigators said they received a call about a man lying on the side of the roadway.
Responding paramedics declared the man dead at the scene. His name was not immediately disclosed.
Police found small pieces from a vehicle at the scene and were able to track down the suspect. He was identified as Shane Allen Fischer, 31, and was arrested on a second-degree felony failure to stop and render aid charge.
Police said they are also searching for a wrecker driver who reportedly went to the site shortly after the crash and then fled without checking on the victim.
The investigation is ongoing.
