Shanna Green Injured in Fatal Crash on U.S. 287 in Anderson County

Shanna Green Hospitalized after Anderson County Crash on U.S. 287 near Elkhart

Anderson County, Texas (May 26, 2022) – Shanna E. Green, 51, of Grapeland, was injured after being involved in a deadly head-on crash in Anderson County.

The crash happened at around 7:00 a.m. on May 25 on U.S. 287, approximately 0.2 miles north of Elkhart.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2011 Kia Forte, driven by Orlin Santos, 29, of Houston, was traveling northbound on U.S. 287 when, for an unknown reason, the Forte veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a southbound 2020 Jeep Rubicon driven by Green.

Santos and his 17-year-old passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.

Green was transported to Palestine Regional Medical Center in stable condition.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
