Shannon Ruffin, Robert Molina, and 39-Year-Old Haslet Man Hospitalized after Wise County Two-Vehicle Crash at FM 51 and FM 2123
Wise County, Texas (January 6, 2019) – Three people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning at a Wise County intersection, according to a local news source.
The crash happened shortly before noon on Saturday, January 5, in the area of FM 51 and FM 2123.
DPS said a blue Honda Accord driven by a 39-year-old Haslet man eastbound on FM 2123 ran a red light at the intersection and collided with a Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Robert Molina, 69, of Abilene.
The Honda rolled over after the impact and came to rest on its top on the east side of FM 51.
The Honda driver was airlifted to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth with serious injuries. His name has not been disclosed. His passenger, Shannon Ruffin, 41, of Newport, Arkansas, was transported to Wise Health System by an ambulance with unspecified injuries. Molina was taken by an ambulance to John Peter Smith in unknown condition.
FM 51 was closed for few minutes to allow the medical helicopter to land.
The DPS is investigating the crash.
